Our story began back in 1878, when the Railway Hotel was built as a watering hole for railway workers and passengers to help service New Zealand’s busiest junction. After a fire in 1885, the new hotel was renamed Frankton Hotel. Then, in 1929, Frankton Hotel was moved to its current location, which is where we’ve been for over 90 years.
The hotel has been extensively refurbished under the watchful eye of former All Black Graham (Moose) Whiting and now, new owners Gee and Ripsey make sure you enjoy the perfect package of comfortable accommodation, hassle-free conferences and functions, and fun evenings.
That’s not all though! Hop on down to Hamilton’s favourite sports bar, the Aleways Inn to witness our take on the perfect blend of modern and historical. We go beyond food and drinks and offer you a vacation experience that feels like home away from home.
